When you are getting ready to decorate your artificial Christmas trees, you are going to find that one of the most common elements of decorating is often a bow. Whether you are decorating with small bows throughout the tree or making one large bow for the top of these artificial Christmas trees, you will want this to be perfect! Making the perfect bow is easier than you think when you follow the directions below, and it will make your artificial Christmas trees look amazing!

One of the first tips to remember, leave the ribbon on the spool of ribbon. If you were to cut a certain amount you will more times than not find that you have cut this too short and the entire bow is ruined. With this being said, the first step is to make a loop. Don’t worry about the size of this loop as you can adjust the size of the bow later.

Choosing the Right Ribbon

Next, take more of the ribbon and make a second loop. Now, this doesn’t have to be the exact same size as the first loop that you made, just be as close in size as you can. Be sure to leave a little ribbon between the two loops. Next, take the loop you just made, and cross this over the first loop at an angle.

Take the top loop and fold it over the bottom loop, then poke it back through the midsection. Pull this gently, and you will find that you are starting to see a bow take shape. Don’t be scared if this looks bad. You are going to want to pull each side of the loop until they are even. You then cut the ribbon from the spool, to make this look even better, you will want to cut this at an angle to make this ribbon look even better. Now, with your bow in the shape it needs to be, you are going to want to spread the width of the ribbon so that the loops are more bow-like!

A tip that you need to remember is that working with wired ribbon is going to make it much easier to make the bow look even bigger and better. Remember, if you need a much larger bow, you are going to find that you simply need to make the loop bigger. Try doing this with some regular string at first so that you do not waste any of your Christmas ribbons.
